Family of Reporter Assay Systems

The CAR Reporter Assay System utilizes non-human mammalian cells engineered to provide constitutive, high-level expression of Human Constitutive Androstane Receptor, isoform 3 (NR1I3), a ligand-dependent transcription factor commonly referred to as CAR, of CAR3. Additionally, these cells contain a CAR-responsive luciferase reporter gene. Thus, quantifying luciferase activity provides a surrogate measure of CAR activity in the treated reporter cells.
