INDIGO Biosciences Announces Distribution Agreement with Thomas Scientific

Thomas Scientific will distribute Nuclear Receptor Assay Systems from INDIGO throughout the US

January 28, 2010 – State College, PA INDIGO Biosciences, the Nuclear Receptor Company, today announces that it has entered into a distribution agreement with Thomas Scientific, a leading distributor of laboratory supplies, equipment and chemicals serving the scientific community.

INDIGO Biosciences is the leader in the nuclear receptor testing field. INDIGO produces a unique portfolio of cell-based nuclear receptor reporter assay products for on-demand use in drug discovery and development as well as for toxicology screening. Researchers use the assays in high-throughput, small molecule screening campaigns leading to the development of new drugs targeting Nuclear Receptors. INDIGO’s Nuclear Receptor Assay Systems are also used to assess the potential for side effects of pharmaceuticals, nutritional supplements or agricultural chemicals before taking those products to market.

“INDIGO is excited to partner with Thomas Scientific to expand the availability of our cell-based nuclear receptor assay systems,” says H. Dean Bunnell, CEO of INDIGO Biosciences. “Our objective is to make these convenient assay systems available to help all nuclear receptor researchers.”

INDIGO Biosciences’ customers include research scientists in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, agricultural and chemical companies, government and academic laboratories, environmental and toxicology labs. Thomas Scientific’s field sales force provides these laboratories with the products and equipment they require, and will be able to offer the INDIGO ready-to-use assay systems to their customers.

INDIGO Biosciences’ assays enable sensitive screening of test compounds for agonist or antagonist activities for use in primary screening or secondary and toxicology screening. The all-inclusive assay systems feature stable-glow luciferase chemistry for batch processing of assay plates, high signal-to-noise ratios, and excellent Z’ scores. Kits are optimally configured for HTS or low throughput screening in 3x 32-, 96- and 384-well plate formats. The Company’s proprietary cryopreservation process, CryoMite, permits overnight delivery for on-demand use. Assay System products are currently available for ER, ER, FXR, GR, LXR LXR, MR, and the PPAR family of PPAR, PPAR, and PPAR.
