The method of recombinant expression of Coleoptera luciferase is covered by U.S. Patent 5,583,024. INDIGO Biosciences, Inc. has entered into a license agreement with The Regents of the University of California (Oakland, CA) for commercial application of the cDNA encoding the native luciferase of Photinus pyrallis.
