Press Releases New Human Progesterone Receptor (PGR) Assay System from INDIGO Biosciences

New Human Progesterone Receptor (PGR) Assay System from INDIGO Biosciences

A robust, off-the-shelf solution for screening Human Progesterone Receptor (PGR,PR, NR3C3 ) is now available from INDIGO Biosciences, The Nuclear Receptor Experts. The INDIGO PGR Assay System is the newest offering from the Company’s growing line of cell-based, INDIGO Nuclear Receptor Reporter Assay products for on-demand use in drug discovery and development research and toxicology studies.

The introduction of the human Progesterone assay completes the Company’s suite of Steroid Hormone Receptor (SHR) Assays. SHRs are a subset of the Nuclear Receptor superfamily of ligand-activated transcription factors. INDIGO now has complete kits and screening services for the Androgen (AR), Estrogen (ERa, ERb), Glucocorticoid (GR) Mineralocorticoid (MR) and Progesterone (PR) receptors.

SHRs translate a small-molecule signal (i.e. a hormone or drug) into changes in gene expression and cell fate. Monitoring effects of small molecules on SHR activity is important in drug discovery as well as toxicology. The progesterone hormones play a role in many aspects of female reproduction, and are used in contraception and hormone replacement therapy. They may also play a role in preventing and treating certain types of cancer.

INDIGO Nuclear Receptor Assay Kits enable ultrasensitive detection and quantification of agonist and antagonist activity using stable-glow luciferase chemistry and feature excellent Z’ scores and high signal-to-noise ratios. INDIGO Nuclear Receptor Assay Kits set an unparalleled new standard for convenience and efficacy, going from freezer to data in 24 hours with minimal handling. INDIGO’s proprietary cryopreservation process, CryoMiteTM, enables overnight delivery anywhere in the United States, so researchers can quickly and effectively perform HTS and low throughput screening in 3x 32-, 96- and 384-well plate formats.
